The community event of the weekend. Cripple Creek is throwing a free block party on Bennett Ave Saturday with mariachi (Mariachi Aguila Denver). Worth the drive up. For 21+, the Tacos and Margs Crawl starts at Illegal Pete’s on Tejon at 2pm. Five stops, $29.99. It’s also First Friday - both Downtown and Old Colorado City Art Walks are free. A Garden Party exhibition also opens Friday night at Commonwheel Artists Co-op in Manitou - 8 artists, free. Step Afrika is at Pikes Peak Center Saturday night. Kentucky Derby watch party at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame Saturday afternoon, $45. Heads up: Mother’s Day is Sunday May 10.
